Wendigo
Origin
The Wendigo is a mysterious monster often found on mountaintops or dark forests. Fables tell of a beast that desires human flesh and seeks nothing more in its life. Often feeding on lost travelers, the stories of the beast are few and far between. Few, if any survivors have lived to tell the tale of this monster. The stories, either fabricated or recounted, tell of a towering beast that stalked them for days. These stories have been passed down for centuries, and are often believed to be nothing but mere fairy tales.
Features
According to these tales, the Wendigo is a massive beast with bone-white skin and bony spines protruding from its body. It has a large head with glowing red eyes, topped with antlers. Its long snout is filled with six-inch razor-sharp fangs.
Habitat
While the tales of the Wendigo often depict it in the high, snowy mountains, more recent accounts may have found it as far south as the McClave Woods. The dense trees that cause an almost constant night would be an ideal hunting location for such a dangerous creature.
Habits
The stories of Wendigo date back four centuries and all tell the same thing. The Wendigo is a stealthy hunter. Once locked onto its prey, it will silently follow it, waiting for the opportune moment to strike. The Wendigo is said to be prone to psychologically wearing down it victim, using noises of its surroundings to drive its victim mad. Once stricken with fear, the Wendigo will take its time as it kills and devours its prey.
